This is SEM: your daily SEO inspiration, where I curate/summarize one valuable item related to SEO and send it your way M-F.

Today I’m covering the recent episode of “Search News” by John Mueller.
Here are the things he said that are relevant to trying to rank your site on Google, summarized, so you don’t have to watch the whole fricken thing:
Search Console has a new functionality called "bulk data export."
Basically, you can export your data from Search Console to Google BigQuery on an ongoing basis.
John also reiterated the new search guidance regarding AI-generated content:
this doesn't mean that all use of automation is spam. Automation has been used to generate helpful content such as sports scores, weather forecasts and transcripts. Ai can also help people to generate great and helpful content for the web. The appropriate use of AI or automation is not against our guidelines
New dashboard for Google search:
Incidents regarding crawling, indexing or serving are extremely rare, but we wanted to have a place to inform site owners should they happen. By the way, serving is what we call it when we show the search results page.
The dashboard also gives an easy overview of bigger ranking system changes changes and provides both RSS for Feed Reader and a JSON version.
For example, you'll see the latest core update from March and recent product reviews updates listed there.

My Take
There’s not a lot to have a take on here. Not much of what was said here is particularly new or groundbreaking, but it makes a lot of sense to take a moment and listen to what J Mu has to say about search-related things.
The most interesting thing Google has said lately continues to be their take on AI content, which they’re fine with as long as 1) it doesn’t suck, and 2) it’s relevant to what your site is actually about (I see a lot of sites pumping out thousands of articles on ALL possible topics do well… until they don’t).
My AI articles that I’ve published beside non-AI articles, all of which are on the same topic that my site is about: those continue to do really really well.
Before I wrap this up:
