Make Your Product Category Pages Amazing -- The SEM Daily: 5.01.23
this is a great resource if you're in Ecommerce
This is SEM: your daily SEO inspiration, where I curate/summarize one valuable item related to SEO and send it your way M-F.
~
Today I’m bringing you another great post from Daniel K Cheung, who I covered a story from in April.
This one is not quite a tool—more like a valuable resource. You’ll want to check this out especially if you have an ecom store, or are involved in working on ecommerce sites.
The title of Daniel’s post is The best product category page optimization checklist you’ll find on the internet, and… it delivers.
There are 100+ things to check in the Google Sheet
These range from preliminary questions, crawling-related issues, rendering-related issues, indexing-related issues, ranking-related issues, semantic SEO, and conversion rate optimisation (CRO)
It is NOT intended to be a document YOU deliver to YOUR client
To be an effective agent, you must decide which issues are the most important and offer a cost/reward analysis in addition to the recommendation
My Take
This is probably something you already pay a lot of attention to if you work with ecom, but wow, what a thorough document to help you level up your category page game.
Like Daniel says in the post: this is not meant to be a client-facing document, if you are in fact in an agency. Rather: this is to help you get your (category page’s) shit together to get it ranking like a champ.
Short one today, but a pretty solid resource to bookmark. You’re welcome.
